Reminds me of the Summer, a light and fragrant Beaune with a delicate starter on the patio. Nothing too serious, plenty of agility, nimble elegance - shall we say.
I've had a run of well stuffed recent burgundies, so I'd be wanting to do a few swaps. Come to think of it, I don't remember any Savigny or Chorey that has been anything other than "pale and interesting". Talking Beaune, some of my Chanson 05's 1er's are not aquiring barny farmy notes or aromas, but more sous bois and forest floor instead.
I feel the "thin feel" would go if you were able to carafe the wine for half a day, give the wine a damn good airing, and then pour back into the bottle for serving during the warm evening - I'm dreaming of pre 2004 summers
in the garden.
The wine's only been released for 4 and a bit years. So there's more time yet, for subtle development.
