Musar usually drops to £10.49 at Waitrose - still cheaper than Majestic.

I must admit, I've not seen Musar priced that low for several years.

Sorry GK, you haven't seen it. Unless there was a Cyber attach this afternoon

Went straight to Waitrose to check.

Musar 2005 £19.99 less 25% = £14.99

Viog, IF you do see the Musar at below £11 please give me a call 8) £10.49 was the offer price for their 2nd wine ? I believe. I do agree, at £15, the grand vin is still a saving against Majestic - Thanks

Went into the Cirencester branch. £25% off plus 5% for 6. Gives you a nice seasonal feeling.

Also 25% off at Tesco for 6.

For those of you who like oak with their sauvignon, this is beautiful.

Château Roquefort Roquefortissime 2009 Bordeaux, France
13.99
100% Sauvignon Blanc. The 18th Century Château Roquefort, located in the middle of the Entre-Deux-Mers was completely refurbished by the Bellanger family in the '70s and '80s. Still visible within the estate are the ruins of the “vieux château” - built in 1291 for Edward I. Vines are 35 years old, planted on clay and chalk with a density of 5,000vines/ha. Grapes were mechanically-harvested in late-Sept with a yield of 45hl/ha. Skin contact at low temperature and then the juice was fermented in stainless steel tanks with natural yeast. Matured for 10 months in French oak barrels. Winemaker Samuel Mestre. Suitable for vegetarians. Alc 13.25%, TA 2.85g/l, pH 3.69, RS < 1.9g/l. Available from Waitrose Wine Direct and 37 branches.

Very dark colour. Gorgeous oaky aroma. This is exciting. Creamy, oaky and delicious. Long and rich, but not chewy. Yum.

I just can't contemplate the compete uselessness of the Waitrose website. The old one was fine, but this one has been crass since it's inception. Have tried several times over the last few months, but they seem to thwart every attempt to buy anything. I've sent e-mails and horrid comments via their web page but they appear uncaring in the extreme.

On your advice Mel, I picked up a bottle yesterday to give it a go.
Will this benefit from more time or is better to drink sooner?

Nic Feuillatte brut NV is down to £15 before the 25% off 6... Decent price at £11.25

To be confirmed...but I'm sure I saw a poster at a Sainsburys I passed last night advertising 25% off 6 there too

Roquefort...Mel's notes says 100% SB whilst it appears to have a large dash of semillon. Does it change by vintage?
If you have the semillon version then up to 3-5 yrs is the watchword(s).

Yes, I noticed that too Ba. The 2010 looks to have Semillion and "3-5ans" quoted on the back label
A keeper then I suppose, depending on how you prefer the flavour profile

Happy Easter Shez and Ba. Happy Eater Mel and GK and Goose.

* Not too long. Please. I'd Say drink and enjoy more on an annverary this or next Summer for a wonderful evening.

I have drunk Ch. Clos Floridène and Smith Haut Lafite blanc (Yep, before they, and particularly SHL went astro. These are slightly sweeter wines.

I have had bottles of both Andre & Lucien Lurton's notable Pessac blanc, La Louvie're as well and many lesser Graves. The wines generally had more Semillion in the mix and more new oak or more RSg.

This lovely Entre deux Mers property has 5% in the mix, so I don't advise ** pushing keeping time, if your storage is more than 10 -13C most of the time.

The Smith Haut Lafite blanc 2010 - 5% Sem - knocked off their perches, all that the very best Marlborough could throw at it - Jamie Goode Feb 2013 Tasting event. At the current SHL price though
I dont think SHL lovers keep this for too long (I havent looked it up). Check cellartracter for SHL and then interpolate. You need to work out whether you want **secondary flavours to dominate Mel's and other current TNs. Also depends who you are planning to share the wine with :)

Enjoy - this wine, which sounds beautiful, and I believe Bordelaise blanc '10 could be superior to 2009 in EDM. At any rate you wont get better for a while now, Lovely and beautiful stuff.

I've drunk Clos Floridène (40% sem) young 4 yrs, the '88 or '89 ? and a '96 they were very memorable and remarkable. The Sem mix changes each vintage.

Enjoy your Easter Break and get a bit of relaxation today.

Mel - what do you advise ? Please

I stand corrected... We should know to trust in Mel. The waitrose site says SB/ Sen blend but the bottle itself says pure SB
Still says the 3-5yrs but guess this wIll suit my flavour profile earlier (it is already 3 yrs after vintage after all)

I noticed Rustenberg JXM in the offer. Was 13.99, now £10.49...
Seems to increase by a pound every year.
I went to Majestic to see how they compared and they're asking £17.50 for it now !!! Ok, so they have their 20% off SA wines so its down to £13.99 but that is a bit toppy.
Needless to say I picked up 2 bottles from waitrose to make up 6 with the last 4 Musars in store
Luckily I have a 10% off discount card at the mo too which reduced the case px down another £8
