Mel said of the '11 - something nasty in here, yuk.
Well, there is (still) something strange in here on day one and very cold. Eucalyptus maybe? Not yuk though. Lessens quickly with a little warmth.
Day two and it's gone. Just about right, very pleasant Touraine. If it goes 25% again, I'll get some more.

I have had plenty of Sancerre's that could pass for a Touraine but never a Touraine that could pass for a Sancerre.

Duncan will explain this

Why does it need explaining?

I meant Dunc couldl explain better than me why Touraine cannot hit the heights of Sancerre despite the many favourable comparisons made by wine writers who probably base their comparisons on lame Sancerre.

Now stop being challenging or i'll ask the local witch to curse your crops.

Can you put in a special request, for the Fairy goddess to cast a loving spell over my cellar - Please.

not related to this Subject - more about taste buds and ya mind's eye :

we did a mini MM on Saturday - a dinner 4, and a greedy open fire, but just 3 of us doing the tasting
This Chablis '08
a Beaune Teurons '05
a St. Emilion GC '05

I pulled a **Tesco Chablis 2008 prem cru (NOT the Baillard one) from my store on Saturday evening to go with a smoked salmon starter, and it was superb, (Mel sang its praises when she did it) the wine was full of maturing fruit, yet fresh; The mineral element came through on the finish like Mo Farah in the 5000m. I dunno, even better than in 2010 when I first bought - How is that ? No oak in the cuvee'.

Some of them ** at this price level (15) are a combination of  Some are to do with us on the night, and some are ....just as you think, they should Be.

Admittedly,
That chablis 1er did follow a perfectly reasonable and fresh prosecco taken as a thirst quencher before sitting down.

The Chanson Beaune was the goddess, and I had been airing her petite coats from late afternoon.

The St Emilion made a firm start for our cheese in the cutting room "never-ending" and then fell off the edge after 1 hour in a carafe !

So........make of it what you will
