Bone dry, rich but not pithy, very austere. A colombard/ugni blend from the South of France could match this for flavour.

Nicely textured but who cares.

Dunc...Charles Sydney says 2012 will be excellent for Sancerre and Pouilly despite the weather. Hard to judge by this wine as it's always tasteless year in year out.

Thanks for the link. I dont want to be a wet blanket

The picture is of a high vineyard on a decent slope, and even then, it looks like a field with a huge and high watercress crop in middle England, during a wet Autumn. Look at the size of the weeds between the rows.

Well now, top notch higher vineyards on steep slopes, hand harvested, and then the fruit on to the sorting table to remove damaged and moldy berries may be good. Of course.

We however, invariably buy at the cheap end, the mass produced, mechanically harvested end of the line - so, Only Tasting what we have on offer will be the proof in the pudding.

I sincerely hope the growers can pay the bills from a petite vintage, with UK taxes, there is not much room for manoeuvre with retail prices.
