Staroslav Czech Lager, £0.99p 500ml
4% Alc. Lively, medium to high carbonation. Little on the nose, whiff of cleaning fluid. A medium bodied lager with a slight metallic background, some lemon and bread. Swift finish. Overall pretty dull.

Breda Royal Lager, £0.99p 500ml
4.7% Alc. Less Carbonation and even less flavour than the Staroslav. Thin and brittle, sour herbs with only a hint of hops. Poor.

Bavaria Premium Beer, £0.99p 500ml
5% Alc. Made using their own spring water. Much better, a decent Pilsner with a pleasant bitterness, lemon grass and honey giving the illusion of a fuller body. Satisfying.

Overall nothing to get excited about, the Bavaria is the only one I would buy again.

Off out shortly, need a new tele.

Lichfield Oktoberfest tonight, I'll see you there if you're up for a beer and a German sausage.

I'd want to be there, alright.

GK, if you didn't buy on Saturday, the Panasonic Viera is pretty good, the Misses just bought. Which, multi star rated. Been on back order at JL for the Olympics, but sadly out of UK stock at the time.

JL are matching Amazon's price. I know these Viera's are more money, but then in our opinion, having done the research - they sound a little bit better, as normal without the DAC. You get a dongle thrown in, and the pic pixal density seems to be a tad tighter. The delivered factory setting was correct (very good) for skin colour. You can see studio make-up on the interviewed celebs ! For formatting picture size, etcetera, the Viera talks to the Humax, without Mrs D having to lift a finger. Handy.

We didn't bother with 3D, although I have to say if you want to go the extra miles, the Viera 3D is a one button remote option, on and off as you view.
The 3D was amazing when watching the long jump and pole vault.

I haven't bought the audio DAC yet, been busy. Something to look forward to.

We had a good night, discovered a new ale that blew me away Duck.

We went for a Samsung unit from Richer Sounds, got a good price, 1080, LED (full aspect), Freeview HD- which is superb, good sound considering although we run it through the home cinema system for more bang.

We watched Prometheus last night, amazing set and scenery, deserves a decent set-up to watch it on, great film if you like your sci-fi.

A very good wine buddy and sailing mate of mine in Warwickshire had - Nice Weather 4 ducks, in bottles, but I never got to sample it. There's another one as well as the Dark Duck, he showed me about 6 months ago. He said it was excellent - and so it is, cos you are another guy who's rating this pretty high.

Your tele is very sorted. That lot should give you a cinema feel in your own armchair - Are you watching a drop more tele, than normal ?

Not really, watched the Man City game last night in HD, good game.

We are movies fans, the missus and I like to curl up on the sofa with a nice glass of something and watch a good film, you may as well do it in style I say. Hate going to the cinema, havent been in years.
