Astonishing development. The rich, oily austerity has gone leaving behind a dry ( 0.75g rs ) , lightish bodied, nicely acidic wine with pungent capsicum flavours.

Very nice now. The lack of passion fruit/blackcurrant suggests that it may topple soon.

Offer price.

Tour of Sacred Hill's vineyards.

Sacred Hill Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2010 (sc) The pretty and lightly floral scent smells of pink bubble gum and juicy red apple that makes me think Pinot Gris rather than Sauvignon Blanc. A soft textured wine with a toasty richness coming through and although there's a typical green herbal edge, the flavour is more subdued apple and pears. 13% alc. $21.99. 8Apr2011.

Said Sue Courtney when the wine was fresh. It was rich and tasteless back then.

Thanks for the Youtube clip G.

I wonder if that CO pinot noir hits the spot - It's going to be bigger money ?

More clockwork orange than mellow yellow. Nose, start and finish don't seem to be from the same animal. Let's see what tomorrow brings - might end up in the 4-hr ragu - mmm

Oh dear !

Bound to be bottle variation with a wine that's developing.

I am enjoying a 2011 Ned, None of you mean buggers have tried it. Very St Clair but doooooooooooooooo serve as warm as you can.

Mellowed a bit on day 2. Still has attitude but 'oily' has arrived and I quite like it now. Maybe 'toppling' but certainly half way to S. Africa.

Bought another at the full price. If anything it's improving.

I so not envy you your Goldwater. GW is a poor man's Saint Clair PB.

This oozes class and has a style of it's own.
