The CoOp wine, sold over Xmas and included in the recent clearance. Very sweet, ripe and plumy with white pepper and vanilla. It also has a weighty dose of acidity that seems out of place for such a ripe wine, obviously an addition to lend balance. The wine comes across as lacking harmony, a bunch of components, and the sweetness is too much to enjoy the wine alone, it needs something savoury. It’s a decent bbq glugger, if little else. |

drank again over the weekend at a neighbour's BBQ (after half a crate of larger and a bottle of Maycas Del Limari Syrah) and it stood up pretty well (as was I surprisingly...) for £4 I'd get another armfull of these for future BBQs as it was pretty good darned for a second wine. Kept the troops happy |
