On offer at Majestic at 4.99 and on the tasting bench in Gloucester. Tried last night, good fruit, robust wine and well worth the money...3 cases into the car.

9.49 in Waitrose.

Welcome lyegrove.

I have enjoyed this in the past, good price. If the Ravenswood Lodi is also on offer it is worth spending a little more, the step up in quality is worth the extra.

Welcome,

Did they have much stock at your branch ?? I believe each store got a very small parcel of these plus a few others.

Another vote here for the Lodi, which I've enjoyed very much in the past. Unfortunately, Majestic seem to have just stopped stocking it.

Will try some of the Vintners Blend instead next time I'm there. Thanks for the tip.

I found the 2005 Lodi way, way too strong. What is it these days?

76% Zinfandel, 20% Petite Syrah, 4% Carignan. Aged for 18 months in 100% French Oak, 25-30% new barrels. Crafted by the 'King of Zin', Joel Peterson, from old vines growing in Lodi's well drained sandy soils.

Spicy, baked and figgy on the nose and in the mouth, but overwhelmed by 15% alcohol.

The '07 & '08 were both 14.5%, cant find anything on the '09 but I suspect that's because it has yet to be released.

These Cali-Zins are weighty beasts for sure, especially if you factor in the regions labelling laws which allow a 1.5% margin. You could be drinking a 16% alc wine. Not one for a light lunch.
