The colour is deep purple, almost black. A powerful aroma of blackcurrant with a little parma violet followed by a hint of white pepper. A fantastic nose, really fruity. In the foreground there is a burnt rubber note but it is so subtle and short it merely adds interest. Sounds marvelously juicy for £4.86. So that was £6.49 at full whack, still good then ? Being a Cote Rotie recipe, I wonder what may happen if you kept one for a long time. You never know Any tannic structure behind that fruit ? It has got all the ingredients, perhaps the mouvedre is a little surplus to requirements. Do some Roties have Mouve' in the mix ? Anyone Enjoy now - a cheap experiment though. |

Yeah, good for £6.49, but this is appears to be a regular for waitrose offers. Past TNs on this wine suggest it might have been a stroke of luck on this vintage. Having said that last years Pinotage was good too. Regarding ageing potential, I'm not sure. There is some structure so it is possible. I have 3 left but will probably pick up more when next on offer. Although that is probably pointless. I'm so busy trying new wines I rarely have time to go back to ones I've stocked up on |
