Much will depend on the style one prefers, £50 is a generous budget for a pink one Quite a claim Mr G. Nevertheless - for £6.66 it's got to be a real bargain. Are you able to say why this sparkling wine earns a star ? |

Goose - high praise. Am planning to do a lot more tasting of big brands in the next 6 months or so, (clearly, a LOT more than the last 18 weeks) and so will have a go at this. |

It is sort of a wind up. As you all know I love the Lindauer Special Reserve which although classed as a white sparkler is pink in both appearance and, when chilled to the bone, taste. This is it's equal and I wanted a list of good pink Champagne so that I could go out and buy one to compare but when I asked a few months ago I got no reply. So this time I thought I would boldly declare the WB to be better than any sub £50 pink Champagne in the hope that you would all scoff at my stupidity and hurl names of classy pink Champers at me to further highlight my ignorance. But you're all too fuffing polite. Either that or you just don't want to admit having any knowledge of drinking pink sparkly things. The Wolf Blass is pale, with very refined bubbles and is at it's best when as cold as cold can be without turning to ice. The subtle strawberry is gorgeous but oh so subtle. Just like the Lindauer. To my taste it's worth the star. |

£50 is a generous budget for a pink one  Bl**dy typical, I am too fuffing polite ! However, you do like it, so for 6 & two thirds knicker, it must be a good-un. Goose, I don't drink pink fiz, OK, so I can't advise. Is that alright with you ? Ocassional expensive pink champers, comes here when it is a corporate thingy, that my daughter has bought around...... or a cheaper jobby that my Misses has bought, cos it has a whopping-save-tag-on the isle for Valentines or muvvers day. I don't do Chewits bubble gum and candyfloss, and the expensive ones are silly dosh, so given the entire world of choice, I'd probably look at a cremant de bourgogne with a dash of PN if pushed. Your stupid weather is causing Ryder cup hasles Having said that, this crazzy maritime climate that dominates most of our Autumns, that has taken over the UK since global warming kicked-in is a nightmare. Ruined my outside tomatoe crops, etcetera.... etcetra. Anyone know how to kick the jet stream back into a northerly position over Shetland again ? So many sound bites. |

Goose, I don't drink pink fiz, OK, so I can't advise. Is that alright with you ? No, it is most certainly not alright. In the absence of Mel's taste buds you're my wine God, Dunc. How dare you not know of a stunning sub £50 pink fizz. Shocked Oh yes ! |

Did anyone try this. Comparing it to sub £50 Champers was a bit daft but I do rate it alongside the Lindauer. |
