Got an email from winedeal.co.uk and thought this might be of some interest ??

New Zealand (white): Jeffrey's Bay Sauvignon Blanc 2009

Fast becoming the UK's favourite tipple and we understand why! Fresh with lots of citrus and green fruits aromas and flavours, this is a perfect Spring/Summer drink.

Spain (red): Vivir vivir Ribera del Duero DO Tinto 2007
£12.99 now only £6.99 90 points
Robert Parker scored this wine a massive 90 points and described it as A Ribera del Duero wine of sensational value. Try it for yourself and be seduced by the complexities of black fruit aromas, spice and a wonderful long finish. Pure luxury...

Spain (red): Flor d'Englora Montsant DO Tinto 2006
£12.99 now only £6.99 92 points
Dark red colour, fruity aroma with impressions of ripe red fruits, spices and tobacco. Soft and full of flavour with hints of berries, bay leaf and some pepper. This wine has a good texture and the finish is long and powerful.
Spain (red): Sabor Real Toro DO 2006
£12.99 now only £6.99 90 points
Bright red with hints of purple in colour, this fantastic Spanish red wine is full of spice and fruit notes on the nose. Despite its powerful bouquet and flavours on the palate, it remains very elegant and extremely pleasant to drink.

Loire (white): Jean Voisier Sancerre 2008
£16.99 now only £8.99
Elegant, dry, and intensely fragrant. Very light yellow/green in colour. The nose is full of characteristic Loire Sauvignon aromas of eldeberry, green apple and bloosom. On the palate, the wine is dry with ripe fruit flavours with fantastic acidity. A truly brilliant Sancerre.

Thanks for that MM, had not seen that site before.

They have some interesting mixed case deals, not bad pricing.

Im sceptical of any MSB with 'Bay' in the title, you never know though, could be a good 'un.

As far as I can tell they are the only UK reseller and must be shifting a fair few cases if its 'Fast becoming the UK's favourite tipple'.

Or they could simply be talking shite.

I saw that offer a few weeks ago. Jeffrey's Bay and Voisier Sancerre. The only connection betweeen the two seems to be that nobody apart from the seller seems to have heard of them.

Run away....very fast.

Cheers MM, Spain looks more interesting, but then Maj are moving Muriel '04 Rioja reserva for tiny money. The vintage '04 is a good'un alright

A diversion, yeah, I looked for Jean Voissier - nuffin do'in'

Goose, I'd been waiting for '09 east Loire, thinking are the budget 08's going to entertain us anymore - '09 gets all the growers crowing for the quality of the crop

I was in M&S today. They had an 09 Touraine. They wanted £9. It's just too much especially now that Sainsbury have that sublime screwcapped Sancerre for £10.99.

Screwcapped Sancerre...whatever next. It'll be red Bordeaux next.

Oh yes !
