Good question ? Label and bottle shape are wrong Who are PLB Wines ? I'll throw some light on the matter by getting a bottle of ORV out of the rack:- The Old Renwick Vineyard is the correct domaine name. The vineyard is on stony greywacke soils found in small parcels near Renwick township The Craggy Range wine is produced by: Craggy Range Vineyards Limited Waimarama Road Havelock North New Zealand www.craggyrange.com Waitrose could move all proper Old Renwick stock in a jiffy if they reduced the price to £10. So I believe this is a dubious offer with a degree of deception in the description as:- surplus from a Famous producer bullshit Can the ringer replicate the stony greywacke soil minerality ? For Monkey Bay palates and laboratory prepared additives; - possibly ! As with Clifford Bay (the real VM wine) we have found out via Pontac's posting that a handfull of bulk produced wines in different colours using the Clifford Bay description, that there is no brand name and producer identity protection afforded by the courts in NZ (geographic names with minor variation are allowed in NZ it would appear) |

I notice this does not have an "Online Exclusive" icon. Has anybody seen this in store? If so its probably worth trying a bottle. |

It is, Ba are you up for it ? Changing Topic: Paul, give me a call, you've got my phone number. Just called my local - there are 4 maybe 5 of the Oh ! Block 6's in my local, and I will take another one on Saturday. Also Mark suggests Preston and Warrinton branches may have some for transfer to Sale or Stockport. Massive wind up on the emails yesterday - Tom trying to get the Manager in trouble, Mark respects La Couronne alright - but the these swap deals are for full cases only, and should be committed orders, Further, logistics don't like doing it over long distances. Vinipolis to Reading was just down the M4 - loads of Majestic vans flow along this route to the Fine Wine centre at St John Wood as well, Sale or Stockport however, is a completely different proposition |

Fair enough Duncan. I will keep trying to source some Oh Block from up this neck of the woods. Let me know if Mark is unable to get more La Couronne. I will check out the other local stores for Picard while I'm after the Block 6. Like I said I don't mind sending stuff on. I'm always sending stuff at work so its no bother for me. I'll confirm what is available and you can let me know if you want me to get some for you. Its the least I can do for all the top recs and the wine cooler. It'll be next week now though. Carpets to be fitted upstairs on Monday so doing all the painting and wallpapering required beforehand. Oh and uplifting the old carpets. By the way, I opened the Vav 09 tonight. I'll report later on the Vav thread. I can tell you now it ain't so nice to breathe though A mouthful went down the wrong way. I couldn't stop couging for 5 minutes |

I did exactly that with some bubbly not too long ago ( on this site somewhere). The flavours were intense. I propose that ALL tasting should be done this way in future. |

It's an 'on-line only'. What our expert says... This very classy Sauvignon Blanc is a one off parcel released on to the open market by one of Marlborough’s best wineries. The producer’s name is rarely revealed to the purchaser and was definitely not in this case. All we can go on is the quality of the wine which is outstanding |

This wine will be 2% grape juice, 90% grape skins and 8% sugar. Made by a man who has only one one off parcel but will find another should you need it. And another one off parcel should you need another one after that. In the man's defence he does live within sight of a duckpond, an ant hill and an empty Fosters lager can. |

I'll buy a half dozen. So long as you take the first six off me. I didn't quite get you. Do you prefer The Ned 2011 or SC VC 2011. |

Got a bit cross-threaded here. Have not tried the SC VC '11 yet. Originally I got the Ned as a present, and one extra for me. Now I've had both and dug out the SC VC '10 to replace it. |
