Intense wine that leaves all others standing including the Wairau reserve which is a balance of fruit and body whereas this is all fruit. Passion fruit and blackcurrant. Better than JE 07 Stunning wine |

And yellow blood seeping down the side of your little green face. Still, you liked the wine, and you are our most expert Sauvignon taster, so this is quite a moment. |

I'd put money on the SC Wairau reserve, being his fave, despite the heavy shell-out Our Mr G is exhuberant about a sub £10 MSB for the 2009 vintage being somewhere right after months of angst. I doubt if this one eclipses other 1st rate '07's incl. JE'07 - Well if it does, in those little green cells today, his exhuberance may have got the better of him. We shall await a contrary message, perhaps cloaked |

It is. I've been searching for a wine like this since the SC VC disappeared from Thresher in mid/late 07. SC wines have such a specific taste. |

Dunc....i'm shocked This, to me, really is as good as it gets. You will enjoy it too but will find it a bit light compared to JE 07. But I like my sb to be light in body and pungent in flavour. |

His Parthian shot -The specific taste If these green cells were asked to qualify these Marlborough sub tenners for a wider, yet appreciative and critical of the true style, MSB audience ? Cheers G, got the message above when editing this. Sort of private fascination for the one to be reliished at maison goose. |

On the nose there is pungent, fresh passion fruit and no sign of weight. I can always guess the body of unoaked whites and rose by smell. The wine has passion fruit, blackcurrant and a light but lingering aftertaste of raw, uncut green pepper. The empty glass reeks of pepper. The wine is dry with little tartness and is sheer class but too lightweight for those who crave a bit of buttery richness. You will like it Mr D but will prefer the JE......but for me this is sauvignon heavon. My search is over. |

I noticed on Sunday (and before we popped the '05 St. Romain) That my JE stock is loosing some pungency when straight out of the fridge door, and we waited for the temp to rise in the glass. I had the padded bags with gel chiller in the boot, but driving distances always presents some obstacles. So with this in mind. Post the optimum temp for Saint Clair basic MSB 2009 pungency sometime, if you have a mo. |

Goosegogs, you've convinced me. I've ordered a case. My heart skipped a beat at Duncan's suggestion it could be a wind-up. Question is, will my stock of other 08 and 09 MSBs seem a waste now? |

I'm odd.....I like good sb served warm at about 12. Not as refreshing but so much more flavoursome. Tribs, this is a very classy version of the Estate Reserve at the Co-Op. Same producer.....same flavour but far more concentrated without being heavy. As for you Ba i'll be waiting at the Bridge. We Welsh are very fierce...you've been warned Oh yes |

He's right. Cold, the nose is somewhat subdued not revealing what is to follow. The liquid hits the tongue and BOOM! An explosion of fruit. I can't believe you can get so much fruit concentrated into a white wine. It might even be a bit much for some. The flavours ARE the same as the Co-op SC wine but as goose says a lot more concentrated and with a little sweetness. A remarkable wine |

Well, I'm stunned. Am tasting MSB on Wed, for the weekly article, but it's a bit late to be getting this one. |
