This wine fascinates me as it's sold by a lot of fine wine stores as well as Asda. My guess is that wine buyers taste it fresh and get that lovely blackcurrant hit and then never taste the wine again. Not only does the wine fade badly in the glass making it a one sitting wine and no more than one glass each, so four guests inc self needed, but it also becomes quite vegetal after about 6 months. I kept this back to see what it would taste like after 18m. The answer.... ....asparagus sherbet. Sherbet is bad enough without it tasting of fuffing asparagus. |

Thanks for flagging that up, tribs. I bought an 09 for £3 and will buy more if it's good. Seven months since first bottling so there could be some of GK's compost heap in there already. We shall see. Nederburg Estate 09, a half decent SA'n is on offer there for £4. The 08 was almost Marlborough like. |
