Mrs G found this via Quaffers Offers Offers page and bought it today. She googled to make sure it wasn't one of those sugar plum fairies made ' for the British market ' and it wasn't.

Made by one of Marlborough's top dogs Kim Crawford ( a blend of grapes from all over MB ).

Light bodied with Awatere style tomato leaf flavour. No tartness or rough edges but simplistic and lacking in concentration yet really quite nice.

Was that an '09 again ? Sounds familiar....No tartness or rough edges but

Move up a notch with Kim C, I've been looking at her stuff on the web yesterday. There are some dedicated cuvees, but I've drunk a bottle of JE'07 and can't remember too much else

*I did a massive surf on Craggy R Pinot '07 from CO, and it is right at the top, and other rated SB.

5 quid less than Mount Difficulty but right up there 94/100

'07 is top drawer for Pinot, Merlot and Sauvignon B, both North and South Island. See other post in response to Sophia.

Some very small people learnt some new words tonight as I was forced to baby sit whilst watching Wales capitulate against the French.

Don't toddlers look funny when they're totally perplexed.

Ba, this wine is to be found both at the CoOp and Somerfield in display stands away from the main wines. It's really very good and the bottle I had tonight whilst scaring children was the best yet.

Today I visited 2 ex Somerfields and 2 "proper" Co-ops and none of them had this stuff.
I baby sat (once) for my brother's 6 and 8 yo girls many years ago. I told them that they could eat what they liked, drink what they liked, do what they liked and go to bed when they liked as long as I couldn't hear them. After 10 mins of this they came into the room where I was watching something sensible on tv, plonked themselves down in between me and the tv and changed the channel. I calmly went to their room to watch their b/w tv. Soon they arrived there. Where's the cauldron. Does Grossman do a "child sauce"? Never again.

Finally found this. I spotted it while picking up more Cuvee Mythique. It was not even on a shelf. Just a pile of boxes. Very nearly missed it.

Goosegogs is right. Tomato leaf is evident. Its quite nice but I prefer the Co-op Marlboro Estate Reserve and that is a £1 cheaper if you can find it.

This is definitely worth a try, though.

Agreed. What stopped me buying more when I had the chance was the fact that it was so light. I thought I was bound to find something more concentrated but with the same flavour.

As yet nothing. The only better 09 that I have found is the Seifried Nelson at M&S but it's very different in style.

Not as good as hoped for, not as bad as expected. Yeah, nice enough but I found a dichotomy. There is a link here to to special glasses, I found on the left of the mouth heavy (SA type SB whilst on the right a watery Loire example. Perhaps I am inebritated,,,or not. At £5.99 I will go again, and as said the Goose, it's hidden in a seperate stack from the other whites...weird.

I noticed the '09 Crawford Farm MSB back on offer this morning in Co-Op, £9.99 reduced to £6.66, I grabbed a bottle to try.

It went through the till at £2.99. Clearly a mistake. I grabbed the last six bottles, I'll take the risk at that price.

It might be worth checking in your local store to see if this is a nationwide computer error, be quick though.

Once upon a time the thought of a half decent Awatere sb at £2.99 would have had me flying to the Co Op to buy whatever they had. But i'm over that now. Two bottles of my fav bottled beer or three cans of my fav lager are much more preferable to this wine.

It's a quality over quantity thing.

Even Bacchus will understand....some time around 2027

Yep, sold out here now. If you take a look at the thread for this, you will find out how highly I rate this wine. If there are any left in your store, I urge you to give it a try.

BTW, good find on the CF. None left at my local.
