This gets better as it gets older. The tartness is fading and there is no noticeable RS whatsoever. I cannot believe that none of you have tried it.

It'll be all gone soon enough so it will.

An Awatere wine made by Yealands. My fav wine of 2008 and better than any 09 NZ wine by far.

So there.

If you don't try it you'll all need slapping so you will.

The Co-op sent me Explorers to taste, which is more expensive, I think. If I'm in that area I'll get a bottle to taste vs the others.

Happy Friday.

Is this the one with the large writing on the label? Graffiti-ish?

If so, I had it at a friends dinner a few weeks back, I found it unremarkable, can’t remember vintage. Maybe I wasnt paying enough attention.

Yes that was it and it would have been the 08 as that's the first vintage of this wine to be made.

I am that not much into awards and am often baffled by some of the dross given medals but err...this got a silver at the IWC and was one of Oz's top sb's of the year.

So I must be right

That said, when it was fresh it was so acidic as to be very hard work but the flavour hit ( typical Awatere tomato ) was huge and I just keep going back for more.

The wine is £7.99 so more expensive by a £1 than the dreary Explorers but is on offer at Somerfield at least, for £5.99.

It's also nice to have a NZMsb that is actually dry..

I'm fairly sure that all Co-op offers are in Somerfield now.

Absolutely hammering it down in Stroud. Dark sky and something hail-like slamming against my window. Baby kitten fell asleep in the paper recycling box. As cute as nine pence.

What name did you go for in the end?

Fo

Sorry, that is the name, not an instruction. It could be spelt Faux. It's a syllable rather than a name. Amelia wanted it and I've named 7 other cats, since 1982 and so it seemed fair to let her have a go.
