This said £12.99, then less a £5.00 jobby, then x 25% discount week = £6.00 at the till Leave the blue screw cap firmly in place. Don't open. Take back and swap for something satisfying, something you know. Ok I'm fussy - This is pretty dire. If you're not so fussy - Pretend it's OK, cos it says Chablis on the label, pour another glass, shove back in the fridge, you won't get any more out of it ! Pipe thin and with the wrong attitude, much too acidic for the unhappy fruit, zero flint or chalk mineral, then nothing. Damn, I'll have to wade through all my receipts later. |

Drat, I am keeping this with the pessac-leognan for a special occasion. Is it really that bad? Surely not. |

Ba it is T for B But I won't leave you with a Drat in tow. So, if you open the bottle and find it to be satisfying - Then I'll send you a cheque for a fiver. If you open the bottle, and you find it to be on the wrong side of disappointing - Then we are quits. Must log off Cheers |

Ba, you know Jiff, the little yellow plastic oval bottle with the screw cap - the squirty one. The acid & air in that open Chablis has converted, and taken over all that unhappy fruit - We are now drinking 75cl of Jiff. It's pretty hash, and I can't find a groat of minerally Chardonnay in there. However, if you decide to open your's tonight and then leave. Buy some battered cod from your local Chish & Fipps outlet tomorrow, on Friday. Then, when you get in, peel off the ole Star front page from your Cod, sprinkle with pepper and a pinch of salt, and a dollop of decent mayo - pour a large glass of very cold Jiff, then wolf it down and swig back. NB - dont put sarsons on the chips, otherwise you'll suffer an acetic overload. |

Will you people never learn. This is one of those rip off wines that Sainsbury specialise in. Bring it in. Charge a fortune for five minutes and then halve the price and wait for the plonkers to queue up and buy. Dunc...i'm shocked ! I have been trying to warn you all about these fake wines for the last three years. Or is it three weeks. Whatever. If it's new and overpriced then don't buy it when they halve it. I never do. Apart from the Neuville Sancerre. But that's not the point. Oh no |

The Bouchard white Burg at Waitrose is a decent drop IIRC. |

GK, I will gladly send you the rest of the bottle - I need a 40cl Jiff plastic squeezy though. Pierre et Fils have their own cru domaines and growers in the village vineyards both in Cote d'Or and in the southern area. Aîné et Fils are hoover uppers. If you like their generic offering from Waitrose, it is likely from much further south in Challonaise, it will be riper even from the scrubby areas, and the oak treatment will modify and temper lesser quality unsorted fruit. I have been drinking lovely '05's and 06's from Laithy and Madge which did cost a tenner or a bit more, and still have some in stock - Praise be. This offering is Naf, and that opinion is confirmed by Mrs Dunc. We are supposed to try these - On this occasion, I got caught. Drain cleaner - Avoid. |

Perhaps I was in the right place at the right time when I tasted the Burg. It was a couple of years back. Im out for another curry tonight, when will this torture ever end... |

Im out for another curry tonight, when will this torture ever end... Let us know what sort of vino you may consume with that. Mind you, with UK habits for extra heavy corkage at the curry house, I'd go with a beer or two. |

On advice from dunc & Mel (her tasting note) I returned a bottle of the A & F PN bought from Sainsbury. Have had the A&F Fuisse before from Tesco and that was pretty good. This was about 1.5 yrs ago tho so can't comment any further |

Shezz, You wrote this on April fools day, and me being a relative Newbie to MSB, I completely missed it: Did spot VILLA MARIA RESERVE WAIRAU SAUVIGNON BLANC 2007 at £13.49 before the discount. Anyone given this a go ? £8 a bottle with discount might be worth a buy if its reasonable. Now I know........ This is our style Shezza, it's right on the button for us. That Goose does not pay attention - I would have grubbed that up - or had it moved to WRack in Sonning / Loddon Bridge Rd - Bugger, another miss. |
