Post subject:  Boschendal Rose 2008 SA Sainsbury/Morrisons/Majestic £6.99
No idea what grapes. In past vintages perm any 3 of Pinot Noir, Merlot, Shiraz and Cabernet.

Tastes like a cheap Spanish garnacha. Full bodied and warm with a bit of peppery spice.

Poor value

The noble Pinot Noir with Cab Sauv or Cab Franc or anything red left over ! - for Pete's sake ! No wonder it tastes W#%$?

I like crispy Bubble and Squeek, so lets try over cooked Malbec 40% with over extracted Bobal 40% plus a wollop of Algerian Carignan 20% and see if they'll take it.

damn - I nearly forgot, plus a dash of cod liver oil :wink:

This one could be worth trying. A bit more money, but then, it probably delivers something closer to what you want in a Rose'

Looks lovely and right up my street.

Shame you have to buy 12 in order to taste. If only Laithwaites allowed you to mix 'n' match.

They have a great wine list, one of the best.
