Never been a fan of this but the 2008 is very gentle and restrained with a beautiful yet subtle tropical fruit flavour.

I don't know what the fruit is.

Not passion fruit though.

Very different from Marlborough. More like a toned down Western Cape.

Thanks for posting this note. A gentle Winter quaffing SB perhaps. Very good value too, given other prices for tat, and the competition. I'd been eyeing up Nelson.

You are an NZ SB afficianado..........however, I want tp pick your brains again, I'm still not done with Malborough 2007 quite yet.

Please give me an opinion for:

Which has a clearance offer of a pound off - but still £8.99 for the private reserve, but good to 2010 they say.

Also there is the Esk Valley MSB where 3-4 years storage in the dark is possible - They Say ? ? ?

"Neill Culley (former chief winemaker for Babich), has taken fruit from three regions within the classic Marlborough area: the Wairau Valley, Spring Creek and Brancott Valley. If you're a fan of tongue-tingling Sauvignon you'll love this "

The tingle will have subsided by now, But as you, I am still flirting with the special 2007 qualities that even made cheapos taste out of their class.

Because:-

I need to revisit TL now, as I want to try some 2007 Pinot Noir from lake Balaton, Boglar which is tiny money and Cellaring to 2011 or so.

Cheers G.

Edited: That Niell Culley link works now !

I now know something about Reading's push for the Premier division, one of my clients delivered a verbal epistle - More regurgitated Rawsons Retreat !

I haven't had these. The Esk Valley wines have a reputation for being quite heavy and needing food.

The few Nelson wines that i've had all seem quite nice.....just not very pungent.

Cardiff City will win the Championship play offs. We'll beat Reading in the semis and then Birmingham in the final.

So that's Wolves, Sheffield United and Cardiff to go up.

With Wolves and Sheffield Utd to come straight back down again.
