Post subject:  Great Christmas Offers

FromVineyardsDirect is just about the best thing that has happened to me this year. The wines I have bought so far have all been glorious—I can't wait to try the rest.
—John Julius Norwich

A brilliant idea! One of the best websites I've seen and navigates immaculately. And what lovely wines! —Tim Waterstone

FromVineyardsDirect.com is delighted to bring our list of exclusive Christmas Gifts—all these wines are in cases of six bottles only (except for our Christmas Case) and can be delivered for you to anywhere in mainland UK for £7.50 per case (free for orders of 2 cases or more to the same address).

Serge Mathieu Champagne Tradition Brut
Case of 6: £89.70
This is a single grower Champagne made from Serge Mathieu's own grapes, and not bought in from scores of growers as the bigger brands are. It was awarded 5 stars in the May 2007 issue of Decanter magazine and described as the 'Billecart-Salmon of grower champagnes.'

Serge Mathieu Rosé Champagne
Case of 6: £95.70
The ‘Pink’ made by Michel and Isabelle Mathieu is gorgeous—a beautifully made Pink Champagne that knocks spots off most of the Grand Cru Rosé Champagnes that are £10-20 a bottle more.

Boirà Pinot Grigio 2006
Case of 6: £41.10
A delightful fresh, totally organic, oak-aged Pinot Grigio from the Veneto region in Italy. We have tasted dozens of Italian Pinot Grigios and this was simply the best—and great value.

Château Lafont Menaut White Bordeaux 2006
Case of 6: £59.70
The best white Bordeaux comes from the inner Graves appellation—Pessac-Léognan. This is an excellent example of what really good, modern well-made white Graves is all about. 'Gorgeous lemon, flowers and liquorice, very soft and silky. And unlike many white wines, it will continue to improve, becoming more intense over the years.' —Simon Hoggart, The Spectator

Domaine de la Tourade “Font des Aïeux” Gigondas 2004
Case of 6: £65.70
A stunning wine from a vineyard just below the summit of Gigondas.'At an informal tasting this was the wine that everyone made their favourite. A Châteauneuf-du-Pape as good as this would cost you quite a bit more. Unsurprisingly the Hachette guide gives it the top 3-star rating.' —Simon Hoggart, The Spectator

Château Fourcas-Dumont Bordeaux 2003
Case of 6: £65.70
From Listrac, a small appellation in the heart of the Medoc that produces many of the backbone wines of Bordeaux. This is a vineyard in ascendancy to be followed.

Château d'Angludet Margaux Bordeaux 2001
Case of 6: £119.70
The Sichel family home and vineyard at d'Angludet in Margaux receives very special loving care and attention from the owners of Château Palmer and other vineyards—and produces wonderful wines from aged vines.

Churchill's Late Bottled Vintage Port 2000
Case of 6: £59.70
Johnny Graham of the Grahams port family founded Churchill's in the 1980s. His 2000 LBV which is unfiltered is a cut above those produced by the big shippers. It is rich—and highly recommended as being as close to traditional vintage port as you will get at a fraction of the price.

Hi Mel,

Thanks for including our postings and for the offer to swap links.

I'm afraid at the moment it is our policy not to include links to other websites on our site.

Bloody cheek - spam yourself into somebody else's site then refuse to accept a reciprocal posting.

Bad form.

Their website really isn't set up to add links to any site. So I understand why they can't add a link.

But...considering the cost of advertising on the internet I think they should at least have had the decency to ask permission and offered a free case of wine ( per advertisement ) to the site owner.

To just post without permission and not reply to the host until such time as they wanted to place another free advertisement is seriously taking advantage.

I'd remove the advert..

I'm such a beast

Sorry boys. I think it's a valid wine-related posting. I was a little irritated that they wouldn't link but now that I know they're not set up for it, I'm not that bothered and they are selling wine and so should be supported.
